SSS Officer Invaded the Court during Weekdays.

The Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation (AGF), Abubakar Malami, on Wednesday, said the nation has ordered an investigation into Friday’s invasion of the Federal court in Abuja, by the operatives of the State Security Service (SSS).

However, the SSS officers invaded the court on a weekday in an exceedingly bid to rearrest an activist, Omoyele Sowore.

Mr. Sowore had been discharged Thursday night, after 124 days in detention, supported the order of Justice Ijeoma Ojukwu.

Many Nigerians have criticized President Muhammadu Buhari for not inculpative the court invasion and holding the SSS officers responsible.

Mr. Malami declared the investigation throughout a visit to the Federal court on Wednesday.

He said he was in court was for a courtesy visit to the Chief decide of the court, John Tsoho. The AGF avoided queries on the explanation for Mr. Sowore’s rearrest, that had drawn criticism regionally and internationally.

Mr. Malami, respondent different queries, said he didn't visit the Chief judge over Mr. Sowore’s case however to congratulate him on his confirmation by the Senate because of the substantive Chief judge of the Federal court.

“It is regarding tradition and not a coincidence but then the truth of the matter is, I’m not here regarding Sowore’s case. I’m here to go to his lordship to congratulate him over his appointment however one issue regarding the judicial method. I believe it's not the sole cause that the federal government is concerned.

“As you rightly know, we've got multiple cases and more serious cases than that of Sowore unfinished before the court typically, so the case of Sowore is certainly not an exception, so I cannot be here for an exclusive case. Asked if he was not shocked by the SSS’ conduct on a weekday, he said, “Whatever affects the integrity of the court could be a worrisome issue for the USA.

“I will never be preemptive of an incident over that I was not a witness to.”

The justice minister added “But one issue I'm sure of is that the government has placed in place mechanism for investigation of the reported incident.

“So, I would not wish to be preemptive in terms of a conclusion, one way or the other, without allowing the consummation and conclusion of the investigation process.”
